What it actually is
A hard, chemical-resistant layer bonded to your clear coat
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that cures into a semi-permanent glass-like layer on top of your paint. Unlike a wax that sits on the surface for a few weeks, it bonds and stays put — resisting road salt, bug acid, bird droppings and UV fade far longer than anything you can apply in a driveway.
We use the Gtechniq Crystal Serum family. Crystal Serum Ultra is the flagship: a dual-layer system applied over a ceramic primer that increases coating thickness, durability and gloss. Crystal Serum Light sits a tier below for owners who want the same swirl resistance and gloss with a five-year window. EXO is our entry coating for a high-gloss, strongly hydrophobic finish at the lowest cost.
The practical result is that water sheets off, dirt has far less to grab, and washing gets dramatically faster. Your paint keeps a wet, glossy look instead of dulling out over Pennsylvania winters.

Decontamination and Level 2 exterior detail
Foam bath, undercarriage rinse, deep wheel cleaning, full chemical and mechanical paint decontamination, then a hand wash. Nothing goes on the paint until everything comes off it.

Paint enhancement
Included with every package: a machine polish that lifts gloss and reduces light swirling before anything is sealed in. It's the step that decides how the finished coating looks. If your paint calls for more, we quote full multi-stage correction as an add-on before the coating goes down.

Ceramic primer and coating application
A ceramic primer goes down to increase thickness, durability and gloss, then the coating is applied to paint and bodywork, trim, glass, lights and wheel faces under controlled indoor lighting.

How long does a ceramic coating actually last?
It depends on the coating. Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra carries a 9 year manufacturer's guarantee, Crystal Serum Light a 5 year guarantee, EXO comes with a 2 year in-house warranty, and Halo is rated for 2 years of durability on wrapped surfaces.
Do I need paint correction before coating?
Prep matters, because a coating seals in whatever is underneath it. Every ceramic package includes an Exterior Level 2 detail, which is a paint enhancement — decontamination plus a machine polish that lifts gloss and reduces light swirling. Full paint correction is available as a separate service and is quoted after we look at your paint.
How long does the car need to stay with you?
Crystal Serum Ultra runs approximately 2 days, Crystal Serum Light 1 to 2 days, EXO about 1 day, and Halo on a wrapped vehicle 2 to 4 hours. The coating needs controlled indoor time to cure properly.
Does a ceramic coating make my car scratch-proof?
No. It's a hard sacrificial layer that resists swirl marks from washing and shrugs off chemical etching, but it will not stop a rock chip or a shopping cart. If impact protection is the goal, paint protection film is the right product — and the two are often combined.
Can you coat glass, wheels and trim too?
Yes. Our packages coat exterior plastic trim, headlights and taillights, and glass with Gtechniq G1 Smart Glass. Wheel faces are coated with Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour, and a wheels-off package covers inner barrels and painted calipers.
How do I wash a coated car?
A pH-neutral two-bucket hand wash, or a touchless wash. Skip abrasive brushes and wax-injection tunnels. Contaminants release far more easily on a coated surface, so maintenance washing gets faster, not more complicated.
I have a matte or wrapped car — can it still be coated?
Yes. Gtechniq Halo is purpose-built for paint protection film and vinyl wraps. It protects against road debris, bird droppings and UV without adding the gloss that would spoil a matte finish.
